This school redevelopment transforms the existing site into a modern, functional, and inspiring learning environment that balances educational needs with creativity, play, and connection to nature. The vision is to foster exploration, wellbeing, and community, providing spaces that support both structured learning and experiential outdoor education.

The nursery was fully rebuilt to optimize layouts, improve circulation, and create a bright, welcoming space tailored to young learners. Additional extensions introduce a dining hall, library, and flexible classrooms designed for accessibility, collaboration, and adaptability. Communal and social areas encourage interaction among students and staff, supporting both learning and play.

A key feature is the “forest school” in the central patio, offering hands-on outdoor learning experiences where children can explore, engage with nature, and develop creativity and curiosity. Landscaped outdoor areas connect seamlessly with the surrounding streetscape, enhancing the school’s relationship to its urban context and reinforcing a sense of community.

Sustainability and wellbeing are central to the design. Energy-efficient systems, low-VOC materials, smart lighting and HVAC controls, rainwater harvesting, native landscaping, and natural ventilation combine to create a healthy, eco-conscious environment. Maximizing daylight and integrating greenery throughout supports both comfort and environmental education.

Through thoughtful planning, attention to detail, and a focus on user experience, this 3,900 m² redevelopment delivers an educational environment that is safe, functional, visually engaging, and inspiring, nurturing the learning and growth of every student.
