This development provides 150 modern studio apartments for the University of Gibraltar, arranged across two interconnected blocks with a basement, ground floor and five upper levels. Each studio offers students a private, self-contained living space with en-suite bathroom, fitted wardrobe, study area and integrated kitchen, ensuring both independence and comfort.
The architectural language draws inspiration from Gibraltar’s heritage landscape, where recesses and cuttings in the terrain define its character. These features are reinterpreted in the building’s façades and volumes, giving the project a contemporary yet contextual identity.
Sustainability is at the core of the design, with strategies including a high-performance building envelope, provision for solar panels, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, electric vehicle charging points, LED lighting with motion sensors, and the use of sustainable and recycled materials.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Rock and overlooking the sea, the project creates a vibrant, purpose-built residence that enhances student life and supports the university community.
