A monument to women has been unveiled at the King’s Wharf Roundabout. Designed by architect Ruth Massias Greenberg, and sculpted by Ermelinda Duarte, it aims to commemorate the contribution by women to Gibraltarian Society. The abstract design which relies on the use of sunlight and shadow, focuses on the changing role of women over the years. I was there, for the sculpture’s unveiling, by Justine Picardo, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Gibraltar Women’s Association.
